This project was a lot of fun to work on... Heather took me on many trips down memory lane! The entire booklet is dedicated to her mom and family, immediate as well as ancestors. The songs are an eclectic mix of kick-ass blues and mellow folk roots. I created her CD release promotional materials as well as the companion website ... which is still very much a work in progress. All in good time they say!

POSTCARDS FROM CALIFORNIA

Nancy Simmonds and David Bradstreet created a musical masterpiece blending original vocal recordings of Colleen with some of Canada's finest musicians of today. This little design was inspired by the post marks found on postcards literally sent from California! Used within the interior album graphics and possible future use for additional product related to the Postcards From California CD. I tested it out by creating personalized aprons for all the principles involved with producing Colleen's new album. Since many of the songs were written while visiting Nancy Simmonds in California and often were inspired around food ... it just seemed appropriate somehow!

After developing the Colleen Peterson Songwriting Award, I eventually designed a proper one... As soon as I get a good shot of it, I'll pop it in here for you to see. It's a simple etched plexi design.. quite elegant... as Colleen was.

I had the opportunity to develop poster design as well as the Musical Tails companion website for this project. Unfortunately, Nancy decided to put this project on hold for awhile and the original website was shut down. The famous 'puppy tail' front cover illustration was developed by Nuala Byles of Garage Communications + Design Inc. Toronto, Ontario CANADA
